As we end the 2011-2012 school year, I am definitely looking forward to some time to rest and relax over the summer break. The day after school lets out, I will be flying back east to my childhood home in Connecticut. My mother is getting ready to sell the house that my family has lived in for over 35 years! We have to clean things up, and I have to dig through the attic to sort out my mementos from all my junk. When I was younger I was a bit of a pack-rat and didn't let my parents throw away anything. I always made them feel guilty by saying, "You can't throw away my childhood!" Well, they didn't, so now I have to. I'll sort through all my stuff and see if I can salvage a few goodies for the 5/6 kids next school year. I know you are all beside yourselves with anticipation!
Other than an arduous trip to Connecticut, I am going to spend my summer in sunny Colorado, hiking with my dog, and reading lots of books! I also love to play with technology, so I will be spending a good deal of time making websites and tools that we can use next year in our classes. I can't wait to share with you what I come up with.
I hope you all have a wonderful summer. Make sure you try some of the activities out that we have posted on the Glogster on our 5/6 homepage. Maybe you could even try making a Glogster of your own! Take care, and I'll check back soon.

Hey guys! My summer is great. Wanna Hear about it?
ReplyDeleteFirst we went to the pool to cool off. Then, we relaxed for a couple of weeks. And my mom's birthday was the first of July, so my dad surprised her by bringing her mother out here (Who lives down in Texas). And she surprised us by taking us to Water World for the day. Then, I was able to go fishing for the very first time! It was fun so we ended up going back a couple more times. I even caught one small fish. Then, my cousin Isaiah was able o stay with us for 2 weeks. And we had a blast, We even had a barbeque. And during all of that I managed to write a few essays, practice some math, read 3/4 books, and write some fictional stories. My cousin's birthday is coming up, but the opnly bad thing about that is that, my grandmother passed on that same day last year (August, 19). But luckily we'll all be there to support him and get his mind off of it. And even though I didn't get to travel across the world, it was still the best summer ever!
